QR Codes
Throughout the SHExpo 2012, we will be utilising QR Codes within our posters and collateral. Below is a basic description of a QR Code with links to apps that you can download a reader to your smartphone.
What is a QR Code?
QR is short for Quick Response. They are used to take information from a piece of media and put it in to your mobile phone. Once it is in your mobile phone, it may give you extra information about the business or link you to a specific area within the businesses website.
The reason why they are more useful than a standard barcode is that they can store (and digitally present) much more data, including url links and text. The other key feature of QR Codes is that instead of requiring a chunky hand-held scanner to scan them, many modern mobile phones can scan them.
